Book Review | Bathsheba by Angela Hunt

bathsheba angela huntBathsheba by Angela Hunt is a retelling of the Bible story in a fictional perspective. Historical characters are brought into modern storytelling and the author’s imagination. In this fictionalized story, King David’s wife is introduced in her family setting and then brought into the Biblical setting.

If you know the Biblical story, lust and self-indulgence are key components of the message. Author Angela Hunt brings her readers just to the point of physical intimacy, using graphic imagery, and stops. She does not cross the line and keeps her bedroom scene imaginative.

As a theology student I did find the fictional book stretching the imagination beyond the pages of Scripture. It’s entertainment not theological.

Fans of Angela Hunt writing will enjoy the book.
